The only previous time I used Inkscape in vector mode was to drive an EggBot (obviously vector-only), and that used its own custom backend renderer. svg, but it can also import various other formats like pdf or dxf. Inkscape is a vector graphics program, so it works normally with. I've got a couple of other things to try, but I'm starting think it's a bad choice for driving a laser: the print dialog has a "rendering" tab where you can select either raster or vector, making me wonder whether it can even do both in the same print job at all. I also found out that you can cut with adobe acrobat (I saved my inkscape file as a PDF) or illustrator (the adobe equivalent of inkscape).
With all of that complete I sent it to print and everything came out perfectly. I sized the page to my lasercutters bed and prepped my machines settings for the raster and vector (this one actually cuts things out). Next up I saved it as an ODG file and brought directly into libre office. Next I aligned the two together and I was ready to go. 01pt thick (it was invisible on inkscape). I then put made an outline around (stroke) it and made it. I made my design on inkscape (it was a picture) and used the grayscale option in the trace bitmap screen. With this special class, we add on a short Inkscape tutorial which will walk you through the customization of a bookmark template. Instead of inkscape, I used another free open source program called libre office to actually cut. I was using an epilog mini helix and was running windows 10. you're probably tired after looking around the internet for an answer so I'll make it quick.
